The hospital received a grant from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to build the ICU as assistance in dealing with Covid-19 and other infectious diseases. The new facility is an ICU room with negative pressure which functions to reduce the transmission of Covid-19 or other infectious diseases, said the Director of Unhas Hospital, Dr. dr. St. Maisuri T. Japanect Consultant Indonesia who is in charge of developing the ICU facilities and infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The building is officially Inaugurated by Hasanuddin University Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa., M.Sc. He welcomed the new ICU for Communicable Diseases at Unhas Hospital and hoped that it could be a model for health services development in the city of Makassar.
